I’d always been intrigued and fascinated by the symbols human beings had left behind them throughout millenniums all over the world. I like to use them to decorate my work. In this case, I carved reproductions of Venezuelan Petroglyphs all over the surface of this checkerboard that I designed and made from scratch. I replaced the black squares and black chips with reproductions of Venezuelan petroglyphs. It’s beautiful and a great conversation starter.

The set weighs 10.54 oz. and consist of a checkerboard, 24 round pieces and a little bag to contain them. The checkerboard is 8.85″ d, 0.51″ h, and have a cork adhered to the bottom so it doesn’t damage any surface.

I made the bag especially for this set in a suede coffee color fabric and a black satin cord with a Chinese-Button Knot in each end (another of my passions, the Chinese-Knots Jewelry technique).
