Sometimes the piece asks me to stop working on it. I began with a vase in mind but when I saw it at this point, I couldn’t continue. It was so beautiful to me that I had to stop.

This bowl with an irregular border and rough texture was made with a special time dedicating coiling technique. It has a native Georgia plant imprinted on the inside tinted with copper oxide. It has earthy tones obtained in a pit fire, which additionally left beautiful, natural and random smoky patterns all over its surface. It has a satin finish obtained with a layer of wax buffed off with a soft fabric.

This original handmade bowl measures 4 1/2″ H x 13 “ D, weighing almost 2 lbs., 6.17 oz.
